Bulletin 18: SAB Guidance on new employer flexibilities

A draft guide to employer flexibilities has been prepared by the Scheme Advisory Board (SAB) in conjunction with representatives from administering authorities and scheme employers.

The purpose of the guide is to provide operational and practical assistance to administering authorities and employers when implementing employer flexibilities introduced by the Local Government Pension Scheme (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations 2020.

The draft guidance from SAB, a covering note giving the background, purpose and details of the consultation exercise and a copy of MHCLG’s technical consultation on corresponding statutory guidance accompany this notification.

Any comments on the draft guidance should be submitted by 9 January 2021 to Robert Holloway

I will prepare the Fund’s draft policy for dealing with these changes in due course. A consultation with the Fund’s employers will then proceed, before the final policy is taken to the Leicestershire Local Pension Committee for approval.
