Compliance status

This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard, due to the non-compliances listed below.

Non-accessible content

The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reason(s):

Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations

  • A small number our pages cause horizontal scrolling on smaller screens, such as the Divorce and Employee contribution rates pages. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.4.10 Reflow.
  • Some tables don’t have the correct headers. For example, the pass-through grid table on the Outsourcing page. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.3.1 Info and relationships.
  • Some elements don’t have sufficient colour contrast. For example, the side menu buttons – unvisited and visited state and text on the home page which is over the header image. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.4.3 Contrast (Minimum).
  • Some text should be marked as headings. For example, the Employer and Member A-Z items on the respective A-Z pages and the Employer Bulletin names on the Bulletin listing page. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.3.1 Info and relationships and 1.3.2 Meaningful sequence.
  • The alternative text of some images. For example, the Local Government Pension Service logo could be improved. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.1.1 Non-text Content and 1.3.1 Info and relationships.
  • The user experience using assistive technology could be improved and we’re working on this. For example, some elements aren’t read out in a descriptive way or use more words than they should, links aren’t read as links. Subpages aren’t read as links and the content within show and hide isn’t read out. Bullet points are read as one item, and pagination links are wrongly read as Heading 4. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 4.1.2 Name, Role, Value and 1.3.1 Info and Relationships.
  • Some PDFs might not be fully accessible; we are working through them to make improvements.
