If you are in receipt of a pension from the fund (as a pensioner or a dependant), please find this year’s Pension Increase letter in My Pension. Once logged into your account, the letter can be found under ‘Documents and Uploads’ and then ‘Fund documents and forms’.

Councillors and Mayors

Following a change in the rules effective from 11 May 2026, councillors and mayors in England are eligible to join the LGPS.

Councillors will need to elect to join and an opt-in form is available on this page, along with a brief guide to the scheme. Your completed form will need to be sent to your authority, not the Pensions Section. You will then be admitted to the LGPS from the next available pay period.

Town and Parish councillors are not eligible for membership.
