McCloud and amendments to the statutory underpin

The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government is hosting a consultation on amendments to the statutory underpin. The consultation seeks views on proposed changes to the LGPS in England and Wales to remove the unlawful age discrimination identified in the McCloud judgment. The 12-week consultation will close on 8 October 2020 and if you wish you view and reply to the consultation document please use the attached.

DRAFT - Public Sector Exit Payments Cap (restricted to £95,000)

The government has responded to the consultation on restricting exit payments in the public sector and this was followed by the publication of draft regulations for capping public sector exit payments. Employers can check the Schedule to the draft regulations to find out if the exit payment cap is likely to apply to them. See the draft regulations | gov.uk

It is currently unclear when the £95,000 exit payments cap will come into force. Once we receive the final Regulations we will share these with you.
