Bulletin 11 - Notice of Pension fund AGM 2022

I should be grateful if the following message could be issued, wherever possible, via your own internal bulletin arrangements to notify scheme members of the forthcoming Pension Fund Annual Meeting. Thank you.

The Leicestershire County Council Pension Fund will hold its Annual General Meeting on Monday 12 December 2022, at 12 noon in the Council Chamber, County Hall.

The meeting is open to all members of the Leicestershire County Council Pension Fund, including active contributors, deferred members and pensioners. The agenda will include the Fund’s Annual Report for the year 2021 to 2022 and there will be a presentation by the Director of Corporate Resources and other officers involved in the running of the Fund. Other subjects addressed will be the progress on developing a Net Zero Climate Strategy for the Fund, the Fund Valuation, and the Local Pension Board’s Annual Report. Further information, including whether the meeting can be accessed virtually, will be provided nearer the time.

Appointment of Employee Representatives

The Fund will also look to appoint employee representatives to the Local Pension Committee and Local Pension Board. These roles are open to applications: further details are available in the role description documents.

The employee representatives who are appointed (who must be current contributors, deferred members or pensioner members of the pension fund), will then be invited to attend meetings of the Board or Committee to which they are appointed. Each candidate should be nominated in writing or via email, stating his or her full name and post, signed by the person proposing the nomination and a seconder, who must both be members of the Fund. The nomination should state whether it is for the Local Pension Committee or the Local Pension Board. These nominations should be sent to the Chief Executive, Democratic Services, Leicestershire County Council, County Hall, Glenfield, Leicester LE3 8RA by Friday 25 November 2022. Where there are multiple nominations, there will be a vote at the Annual General Meeting. If you would like further information or have any questions on either of the roles, please feel free to email Matthew Hand.
