The LGA’s draft response for the consultation regarding Reforming local government exit pay

As detailed in our bulletin number 13, the MHCLG published a consultation on reforming local government exit pay | gov.uk. The consultation seeks views on proposed changes to the LGPS and compensation regulations in England and Wales to introduce the exit payment cap and further reform of exit payments.

On 28 October 2020 the LGA published their draft response to the MHCLG consultation. The deadline for responses to MHCLG is 9 November 2020 and they wanted to share with you their current thinking in order to inform any responses individual councils may be making.
