Bulletin 6: Egress Secure Email – Possible Change to Firewall Policies

Leicestershire County Council and the Pension Fund use a third-party product to deliver emails securely where they contain sensitive data. This service was provided by a company called Egress and your ICT department may have needed to make changes to your firewall policies to let these through.

Egress have now been acquired by KnownBe4 and this has meant a few secure emails have not been delivered to employers as they have not passed through their firewall policies.

Leicestershire County Councils IT department have asked The Pension Fund to inform employers of this change and to ask for you to make arrangements with your IT departments to allow secure emails from KnownBe4 to pass through your firewall.

Employers affected by this who have updated their firewalls are now receiving the secure emails again.
