Bulletin 6: McCloud Exercise - Deadline for Submitting Data

Further to previous bulletins relating to the McCloud exercise, I wanted to remind you that the deadline for the scheme member hours changes and service breaks in respect of the period 1 April 2021 to 31 March 2022 is 30 June 2022. This is following on from previous submissions that covered the periods 1 April 2014 to 31 March 2020 and 1 April 2020 to 31 March 2021.

If you have not yet provided the data in respect of the previous submissions, please ensure that all outstanding data is provided by this deadline. You do not need to provide separate reports – they can be rolled into one.

Data should be submitted using the same templates that were used previously, and once again must be sent securely through Egress to pensionsdata@leics.gov.uk

Following recent changes in legislation introduced in The Public Service Pensions and Judicial Offices Bill, the scope of potential members that may be affected by the McCloud ruling has widened. This means that there may be a further exercise where data in respect of scheme members previously considered ‘out of scope’ may be required. It is expected that this will be conducted after the initial data is loaded when a check for any gaps in data is conducted. At this stage, you do not need to take any further action and this is unlikely to affect all employers, but I just wanted to make you aware of this possibility.
